ISSAOS 2010 - Climate change and impacts on natural and protected areas

30th August - 3rd September 2010

The ISSAOS 2010 will provide a series of lectures presenting and discussing recent scientific advances in the characterization of climate change and its consequences for natural and semi-natural areas. These include environmental, modeling and impacts as well as analyses of extreme events. Lectures will be given in slots of 30-45 minutes, on the following topics:

• Global change and mountain regions

• The climate system and impacts

• Climate modelling

• Hydrological modeling

• Extreme events

• Ecological impacts

• Impacts on forests

• Aquatic impacts

There will be ample opportunity to sample interdisciplinary approaches to complex environmental problems and to exchange ideas and questions between the lecturers and the participants.
