1. Meteorological instruments may be borrowed from the Society for school projects.

2. School Members can apply for grants to:

  • carry out small research projects including field work;
  • purchase meteorological equipment for the school;
  • encourage the study of meteorology in schools; and
  • take part in educational courses and teacher training.

3. The Society assists School Members by providing advice, guidance, etc. on a wide range of matters relating to meteorological education.

4. Like Fellows and other members of the Society, School Members can purchase teaching aids, books and resource packs at discount prices.

5. The nominated representative of the school receives Weather, which is a popular, well-illustrated, monthly magazine for all who are interested in meteorology, including teachers and their students at the GCSE and A-level stages.

6. Teachers and students from a School Member may attend Society meetings on the same basis as Fellows and other members, i.e. free of charge or at a reduced fee compared with that paid by non-members of the Society.

7. The nominated representative of the school is allowed access to the members' area of the Society’s website.
