Some interesting and important Datasets
Annual global and hemispheric surface temperatures
The global, northern and southern hemispheric near-surface temperature series are created by observing changes from the average from 1961-90. These are often called 'anomalies'. They are calculated from measurements of air temperature at fixed long-term land stations and from sea-surface temperatures measured from ships and buoys.
Central England Temperature (CET) series
Central England Temperature is representative of a roughly triangular area of the United Kingdom enclosed by Bristol, Lancashire and London. The monthly series begins in 1659, and is the longest available instrumental record of temperature in the world.
England & Wales Precipitation (EWP) series
The dataset of UK regional precipitation, which incorporates the long running England & Wales Precipitation (EWP) series beginning in 1766, the longest instrumental series of this kind in the world.
