OBSERVERS' COMMENTS

Bablake: Warmest April in Coventry for 16 years.
Middleton: First 23 days mainly dry; the last week particularly wet. The 16th was the warmest April day since local records began in 1881.
Desford: Max 25C on 16th followed by 36hrs of totally cloud-free skies
Pitsford Hall: Driest April in Northampton since 1984
Mickleover: Third successive month with record (1955) local sunshine
Rosliston: Despite the warmth there were some sharp and damaging frosts earlier in the month.
