OBSERVERS' COMMENTS

Rosliston: Heatwave 7-16th ended with some quite severe storms
Mickleover: Driest July since 1998 - Mickleover always on fringe of the rainfall
Lowdham: Thunder 16,17,21 & 30th plus impressive lightning to East on 19th
Desford: Spectacular thunderstorm 19th.
Middleton: 62mm rain from severe thunderstorm early hours 17th. Lightning so intense that 0.01 hrs 'sunshine' recorded in otherwise total darkness.
Pitsford Hall: Notable heat-wave around mid-month
Bablake: 4 out of 5 last July months have recorded below average sunshine
Pitsford Hall: Some particularly wet days
