OBSERVERS' COMMENTS:
Most Stations: The warmest January since 1990
Desford: 18th Thunderstorm with large hail which accumulated to 2cm
Eastwood: Rainfall low but spread over a lot of days
Derby: Least January air frost since 1990
Pitsford Hall: A rare gale on 8th with blocked roads and power cables down
Ely: Only 2.5mm rain to 16th. Highest avg max temp in January since 1993
Lowdham: Rainfall for the November to January period is the
lowest on record for the Nottingham area (1867)
