OBSERVERS' COMMENTS:
Rosliston: Coolest April since 2001 despite temperatures on the warm side
Bablake: Coolest and dullest since 2001
Ely: Mean max highest in 35 yrs records. 2005 rainfall so far only 63% of normal
Lowdham: November to April rainfall is lowest since 1938, and ranks
third lowest in Nottingham area since 1867
Derby: 8th warmest April on record (since 1952)
Wirksworth: 7th consecutive April with no lying snow
Middleton: No lying snow but further north in Peak District above 400m there
were 5 mornings with lying snow
