Weather Observations
Observations from different countries are shared when making predications of the weather. These are from a large range of observing instruments that include satellites, radars, aircraft, ships, buoys, weather balloons and surface based instruments.
Use the link below to see the wide range of observations used by the Met Office in producing their global weather forecasts.

ARGO Observations in our Oceans
New developments in technology allow us to make very detailed measurement profiles across the world's oceans. These are important for both weather and climate predictions. An international programme called ARGO co-ordinates these (over 3000) observations. You can find more information about ARGO, maps of where the observations are made and an interesting animation of how the Argo floats by using the link below.

The Science of Weather
A series of downloads giving exercises and weather explanations for teachers to use. Includes lesson plans for teaching climate change, clouds and many more subjects.
Each subject has two downloads, a resources file and an information sheet.
These are aimed at primary school teachers and are contain many activities and experiments that can be carried out in the classroom.
