LOCATION

SPEAKER | Prof. Piers Forster, Priestley International Centre for Climate,
University of Leeds.

ABSTRACT | Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change reports produced by the UN present current understanding of climate science as a tool for policy makers world-wide. I have been an author of serval past reports and am currently writing the next cycle of IPCC reports for its 6th assessment report series. I will discuss how we presented physical understanding of climate change in the recent the IPCC Special Report on 1.5C, discussing what we know and do not know and how we can communicate risk. I am particularly interested in an open discussion on what we as IPCC authors can learn and improve on for next time.

Registration

REGISTRATION HAS CLOSED.

This meeting is part of the Royal Meteorological Society Meetings programme, open to all, from expert to enthusiast, for topical discussions on the latest advances in weather and climate. Free to attend. Non members are welcome.
