SPEAKER: Prof Ian Renfrew, University of East Anglia.
ABSTRACT:
Ian Renfrew, a professor in the School of Environmental Sciences at UEA will talk about the early results from the Aerosol-Cloud Coupling and Climate Interactions in the Arctic (ACCACIA) field campaign. Observations from two research aircraft flying in the vicinity of Svalbard in March and July 2013 will be used to illustrated the structure of the atmosphere in this remote region. Observations of boundary-layer structure, clouds and sea ice will be presented and compared to forecast model output. Photos from the field campaign will illustrate the talk.
This meeting is part of the Royal Meteorological Society Meetings programme, open to all, from expert to enthusiast, for topical discussions on the latest advances in weather and climate. Non members are welcome to attend these meetings.
