In response to advice from the Government on COVID-19, the Atmospheric Science Conference (ASC2020), due to be held in Leeds in July 2020, has been cancelled. We had hoped to postpone the conference until September, but available venue dates clashed with other events that our community are likely to attend.
We are now focusing our attention on planning ahead for 2021 and would be delighted to welcome you virtually to the conference in 2021. Follow #ASC2021 on Twitter or visit www.atmosphericscienceconference.uk for announcements about the call for abstracts and registration details.
ASC2020
The National Centre for Atmospheric Science and the Royal Meteorological Society are jointly hosting the 3rd Atmospheric Science Conference in Leeds on 1-2 July 2020. This 2-day conference provides a unique opportunity to bring together atmospheric scientists with interests in weather, climate and atmospheric chemistry to present the latest research findings. The event will be held at the University of Leeds with a focus on Long-term Global Change, Air Pollution and Climate & High-Impact Weather. The Society and NCAS are aiming for the conference to be as environmental and sustainable as possible with support through its collaboration with the University of Leeds.

Call for Papers 2020
Abstract submissions are now open!
Atmospheric science has never been more relevant to society and sustainable development.
We are finding solutions to environmental challenges - from forecasting floods and periods of poor air quality, to modelling robust projections of sea level rise and measuring vehicle exhaust emissions.
The UK’s Atmospheric Science Conference 2020 will cover the latest weather, climate and pollution research, spanning a range of research disciplines, applications and collaborations.
We will showcase exciting and impactful research, new developments and multi-disciplinary work related to our themes of Long-term Global Change, Air Pollution and Climate & High-Impact Weather.
This year we are also keen to hear about how today’s science serves the future through more sustainable research practices, shaping policy, protecting the environment and improving people’s lives. The multidisciplinary nature of the sustainability challenge also invites participation from the fields of health, government and industry.
Our two-day conference will combine plenary speakers, parallel sessions for oral presentations, lightning talks with supporting posters, poster exhibitions, workshops and networking events.
The call for papers will close on Friday 27th March.

Following delegate feedback on the networking and social opportunities for delegates at the ASC, we are delighted to announce a new, more informal style and setting for our conference dinner, serving a varied menu focused on sustainable food choices and locally sourced produce.
