ABSTRACT: The Met Office has a history of working with the military, and still holds strong ties to this day. In this talk I will cover the process of becoming an Operational Meteorologist embedded at an RAF station, why the military require weather forecasts, as well as the demands they place upon a modern meteorologist both at home and on detachment.
