SPEAKER | Tony Flannery, Burn Gliding Club.

ABSTRACT | Tony began his flying career 31 years ago and has flown well over 2500 hours as a solo pilot, a gliding instructor and a pilot of powered aeroplanes. He will provide a highlight of his adventures through a series of photographs and will demonstrate the practical side of using the weather to achieve flight, focusing predominantly on thermals and mountain waves.

This meeting is part of the Royal Meteorological Society Meetings programme, open to all, from expert to enthusiast, for topical discussions on the latest advances in weather and climate. Free to attend. Non members are welcome.
