Committee vacancies: Help influence the work of the Society
Would you like the opportunity to have your say on the membership of the Society and help us with new and engaging campaigns? Would you like to help us shape the future of our events programme? We currently have vacancies for members to join either our Membership and Business Development Board or our Meetings and Conferences Committee.
Meetings and Conferences Committee - Member
We are potentially looking to recruit five additional Committee members to help guide and develop the delivery of high-quality events to a growing and increasingly diverse audience from across the meteorological community and other related disciplines.
The Committee meets typically three times a year to discuss the Society’s events strategy and agree on the annual programme.
Each member serves a five-year term of office, with an enthusiasm and drive for the role and responsibilities and would ideally have a strong network with contacts and industry links.
Applications should include a short statement (200 words) of your interest in the role and what your contribution to the Committee could be. To apply or for further details please contact Sharon Reeve: email@example.com or (0)118 2080 142

The Royal Meteorological Society (RMetS) is the leading independent expert in weather and climate. As a registered charity we have a mission to engage, enthuse, educate and empower by promoting the understanding and application of weather and climate science for the benefit of all. We work to strengthen the science and raise awareness of the importance of weather and climate, support meteorological professionals and inspire enthusiasts.
Our programmes are broad and diverse, with activities and events held for members, the general public and the wider meteorological and climate community.
The Society promotes equality, diversity and inclusion to create greater opportunity for any individual to fulfil their potential, irrespective of their background or circumstances. We would therefore strongly encourage women and members of under-represented groups to apply.
These roles are voluntary, and expenses will be reimbursed in line with the Royal Meteorological Society Expenses Policy.
These roles would count as evidence towards your CPD (Continuing Professional Development), demonstrating a commitment to your career and professional development, as well as counting towards evidence to support an application for professional accreditation.
