Editor-in-Chief change for Weather

14 March 2019

We have to sadly say farewell to Jim Galvin who will step down as Editor-in-Chief of Weather on March 31st, 2019.

The Society is extremely grateful to Jim for all his hard work and commitment during his term in office both with the Journal itself, as well as his support with associated projects and events. Jim has contributed considerably to the growth and success of Weather over the past five years and we wish him much happiness and success in his new endeavours.

Jim will hand over the reins to the new Co-Editors for the journal, Eddy Graham and Gavin Huggett.

Formerly an operational meteorologist, Eddy Graham is a lecturer at the new ‘University of the Highlands and Islands’ (Scotland) and has won several awards for his teaching and communication style. He is well-known on social media, regularly tweeting and re-tweeting weather topics. Over the years, he has worked on many international met-related projects e.g. in Canada, Chile, Switzerland, Kenya, the UAE and the Canary Islands. Eddy has served on Editorial Board for Weather and has always been an avid reader of the journal.

Gavin Huggett is a research project manager at the University of Exeter. He is a former Operational Meteorologist and trainer at the Met Office. He maintains a keen interest in weather and climate and in particular how it affects agriculture, aviation and other industries.

Please join the Society in welcoming Eddy and Gavin to the team!
