National Accreditation Day
On National Accreditation Day, we are thrilled to reveal the design for our new professional accreditation badges.
Anyone who has achieved their RMets or CMets will be entitled to use our newly designed badges on email signatures, social media channels and websites to demonstrate professional recognition of skills and competence. In the coming weeks, we will also be contacting our accreditated members with details on obtaining a physical badge to symbolise your achievements.
If you are thinking about starting the journey towards gaining your professional qualifications in meteorology, we are here to support you.
Our professional accreditation schemes enable you to demonstrate your accomplishments and commitment to your own professional development and are recognised internationally.
Professional accreditation brings many benefits, including the right to use CMet and RMet as a post-nominal designation and the privilege to use the new badges on personal profiles.
We have two professional accreditation schemes:
Chartered Meteorologist (CMet) is the highest professional recognition in meteorology available in the UK, no matter your discipline or sector.
Registered Meteorologist (RMet) is awarded to Royal Meteorological Society members pursuing a career in meteorology or working in a role supporting meteorological services.
Our extensive guidance and information about how to apply can be found on our professional development web page, or you can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call us on (0)118 2080 142 if you have any questions.
