Royal Meteorological Society Covid-19 Policy - Face-to-Face Events

We would like to reassure everyone attending our events that we have policies in place to ensure the safety of delegates and staff, which is our number one priority. These will be reviewed monthly and pre-event as it is an ever-changing situation.

All measures have been put in place to make sure everyone involved are safe and enjoys returning to live events. We will continue to monitor the latest government guidelines to ensure health and safety advice is followed. Some guidelines may be venue specific, and we will notify you in advance of the event if anything is different to the guidelines included in this document.

Mask Wearing

Face coverings are no longer required by law in England, however if you would prefer to wear a mask, please continue to do so. For more information about whether you are exempt or not, please visit the location of the event government guidelines; England, Scotland, Wales and N Ireland.

Check List

Pre-event

  • Please do not travel if you have any of the COVID-19 symptoms.
  • A member of staff will complete a COVID-19 risk assessment before any delegates arrive onsite.

At the event

  • We are working closely with all venues to ensure hand sanitiser is available throughout the building. The rooms will be well ventilated, and extra cleaning of all facilities will be in place to provide a safer experience for all.
  • Please be mindful of social distancing. We ask that you respect others when choosing where to sit and allow space where possible.
  • All programmes will be available online. Printed material will be kept to a minimum, but please ask a member of staff at the registration desk if you need anything.
  • Please remember to check-in at the event reception upon arrival.
  • All catering will be contactless where possible, although this may vary depending on the event. If food is provided, this will be prepacked where feasible.

Post-event

If you test positive within 14 days of attending an event, please immediately inform the Royal Meteorological Society via meetings@rmets.org. All delegates will be notified if anyone tests positive within this time, and details will be passed onto Test and Trace if requested.

All onsite attendee details must be kept for three months from the date of the event and will be destroyed after this time to conform with UK government guidance.

Declaration
