RMetS to Host Free Online Careers Day

24 February 2023

The Royal Meteorological Society (RMetS) has announced that it will host a free online Careers Day on Saturday, 17 June 2023. Places are open to students, graduates, and job seekers in the early stages of their careers interested in pursuing a career in weather, climate or climate change.

During the online event, attendees will have the opportunity to hear from experts in the field who work for UK universities, the Met Office, media institutions and other employers of meteorologists. These presenters will discuss their current work and how they achieved their positions while exploring the best routes into meteorology.

“The RMetS Careers Day is an excellent opportunity for anyone considering a career in weather and climate,” said Professor Sylvia Knight, Head of Education at RMetS. “This event is particularly useful for individuals deciding which A-level subjects to take or looking at undergraduate courses in meteorology. It’s also valuable for those already studying meteorology or working in the field and looking for guidance on their next steps.”

During the event, you’ll hear short talks from a broad range of presenters and have an opportunity to ask them questions.

Registration for the event is now open on the RMetS website.
