Translating Academic Research for the Media

“Tailor your message to your audience” is common advice. But how can you put it into practice?

When studying for my masters degree, I learned how to write for journals and speak for conferences. But when I graduated, I left the bubble of academia. My subsequent work in the government and the media allowed me to experiment with different ways of communicating climate science.

In this keynote, I will unpack examples of good (and bad!) science communication, and give attendees tips on how to share their work more effectively.
