Dr. Ben S. Pickering

Dr Ben Pickering is a UK-based atmospheric physicist specialising in novel meteorological sensing and field campaigns. After research posts with NCAS and the University of Leeds in collaboration with the Met Office, he co-founded Menapia Ltd, delivering drone-enabled weather observations, and now consults on instrumentation while incubating a venture developing crowdsourced personal weather stations with all-sky imaging capability. Ben has authored peer-reviewed studies on precipitation measurement, crowdsourced data and UAV platforms, and has featured on national news during notable weather events. He serves on the RMetS Yorkshire Local Centre committee and occasionally chases storms.
