Seasonal Forecast Outlook for the Energy Sector

This free virtual event will bring together weather and climate scientists, operational seasonal forecasters and representatives from across the energy sector to take a look ahead at the 2023/24 winter seasonal forecast. We will also hear some science talks, and discuss how seasonal forecasts are used in the energy sector more generally.
Speakers
Dr. Hazel Thornton (Monthly to Decadal Prediction and Impacts Team at the UK Met Office) will examine the 2023/24 winter seasonal forecast from the UK Met Office. This will be followed by short responses from:
Dr. Jan Dutton, World Climate Service, a provider of long-range forecast information
Dr. Ben Sloman, National Grid ESO
There will then be the opportunity for questions from and discussion with the audience.
