UKCP18 national climate projection meeting - presentations now available

21 February 2019

Scientists, policymakers and practitioners gathered at Imperial College on 20 February to discuss and hear about 'The role for climate services in handling climate change risk: contributions of UKCP18'.  The presentations described how the latest national climate projections, published in 2018, had evolved since their inception in 2002, and how they were being applied to projects around the UK including drought planning, building performance, conservation management, flood risk, cliff recession and marine planning.

This meeting was provided at no charge to attendees as part of the Society's charitable mission.  It was delivered in partnership with the Grantham Institute and the Met Office.

Professor Sir Brian Hoskins FRMetS congratulated the speakers on an interesting and informative meeting and thanked the audience for their contributions.

The presentation slides and event-day programme are now available to download from the Society's event page.
