Editors-in-Chief: Andrew Ross and John Methven

About this Journal

The Quarterly Journal is acknowledged as one of the world’s leading meteorological publications.

The aims of the journal are to communicate and to document the results of new research in the atmospheric sciences and associated fields.

The journal is published eight times a year with additional special issues.

Celebrating 150 years

In light of this significant anniversary, RMetS and its volunteers have collated notable articles that have been published in QJ since 1873.

Within this QJ Digital Timeline are 21 papers selected by former and current Editors in Chief of the journal, over 60 papers chosen by the RMetS History Special Interest Group, as well as key RMetS milestones, and information on past QJ Editors in Chief.

The QJ@150 Anniversary virtual collection also contains an editorial which explains why papers have been chosen for this special collection.
