The Australian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society (AMOS) invites you to celebrate our 30th Anniversary Symposium.
Join us as we showcase the latest innovations in some of
the vital sciences of our times.
Science is for life. Across the world, 24 hours a day, our scientists are using the most sophisticated technologies to observe, measure and analyse the Earth's vital signs. Science for Life will tell the story of how their insights and innovations are helping us protect and enhance life.
This year marks a milestone for the meteorological and oceanographic professions in Australia, as well as for the broader weather-enthusiast community. The Australian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society (AMOS) is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and, in celebration, will be hosting the Science for Life Symposium in Melbourne on 22-23 August.
This Symposium will feature high-level plenary talks that will explore the issues and focus on cutting-edge developments in weather, oceans, water, climate and sparking cross-disciplinary ideas across our sciences. Our special international guests include David Carlson, Director of the World Climate Research Program and Prof Brian Golding, Co-chair of World Meteorological Organisation's 10-year high impact weather research project, HIWeather. The Symposium audience will include a broad cross section of society, such as scientists, students, government, industry and other interested stakeholders.
