Its formation started in the end of August, when a a strong low air pressure system formed over Western Africa passing westwards. Weather Witnessing extreme weather events from space 18 September 2018 Satellites have been used for decades to monitor changes of the Earth’s surface. This includes the impacts of extreme weather events such as wildfires, severe storms or droughts.
