Earth Day 2020

22 April 2020

This year, April 22 marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. In response to the COVID-19 global pandemic it will be the first Digital Earth Day with many global digital actions and events to address the most urgent threats to people and the planet.

A full programme of digital events, including video messages and talks, virtual protests, social media campaigns and online teach-ins is available at earthday.org

Whether online or in person, the goal of Earth Day remains unchanged: to unite hundreds of millions of people around the world to pressure world leaders to act on environmental degradation and climate change. Growing out of the first Earth Day in 1970, Earth Day Network is the world’s largest recruiter to the environmental movement, working with more than 75,000 partners in over 190 countries to drive positive action for the planet.

In honour of Earth Day 2020 we have contributed some of our journal articles to a collection hosted by Wiley of over 200 articles on climate policy, agricultural adaptation, nature-based solutions, and more. The collection is FREE to view for one month, until May 22 https://secure.wiley.com/earth-day-2020
