Membership Renewals

30 November 2023

Your Society membership runs from 1 January to 31 December each year. With renewal notices available in your dashboard, now is the time to renew your membership for 2024.

2024 promises to be an exciting year for RMetS, as we begin to assimilate the findings from the recent membership survey, as well as building on our important science engagement work. Stay tuned for RMetS’ inaugural Weather and Climate Conference, an informative new Masterclass Series, and lots more updates on the Society’s vital climate education initiatives.

The Royal Meteorological Society is a registered charity and relies on membership and donations to help support our work. We are extremely grateful for your continued support.

How to renew your membership

By now, you will have received your renewal notice within your online dashboard area.

Like many members, you may find that the easiest and quickest way to renew your membership is by Direct Debit.

If you have yet to move to Direct Debit, then doing so will enable you to split the cost across the year and save time in the longer term. You must have a UK bank account and complete your details on the Direct Debit mandate form, by Monday, 18 December.

You can also pay the annual payment via a bank transfer or cheque.

If you’d prefer to speak with us directly about renewing your membership, please don’t hesitate to email us or call us on +44 (0)118 2080 142.

Gift Aid declarations

Please also remember to say yes to Gift Aid to help us, at no extra cost to you.

Gift Aid is a tax relief scheme that allows charities such as the Royal Meteorological Society to claim 25% of the tax already paid on all eligible donations and subscriptions made by a UK taxpayer. This means for every £1 you give we can claim an extra 25p in Gift Aid from the Government.

It couldn’t be simpler – just choose one of the following options:

  • Tick a box on your dashboard status.
  • Tick a box when you renew your membership online.
  • Return the gift aid declaration on the website.
  • Or email to confirm your current Gift Aid status.
